Depth Hypnosis and Applied Shamanism Practitioner
Depth Hypnosis, which includes Applied Shamanism, is a holistic and integrative approach that works with altered states and is quite successful in transforming difficult challenges and behaviors. The Depth Hypnosis methodology, developed and taught by Isa Gucciardi, PHD, is a spiritual counseling model that utilizes Transpersonal Psychology, Depth Hypnosis, non-denominational Buddhism and ancient wisdom techniques of Applied Shamanism, to address suffering affecting our quality of life and ultimately our relationship to our inherent sacred nature and life force. This model offers compassionate assistance that helps us recognize our inherent sacred nature and empowers us, while offering the skillful means to heal. When facing our personal suffering and addressing these challenges, we can cultivate a deeper respect for ourselves and our personal dignity, even in our dying process.
Navigating personal transformation can be tricky, especially when we have been harmed and have been dis-empowered through personal and/or cultural trauma and calamity. Our willingness to be honest with ourselves and to work with the initiatory process inherent in the problems we encounter, empowers us to gain personal authority and agency in the healing we seek. When addressing symptoms such as addictions, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and PTSD, the Spiritual Counseling model of Depth Hypnosis and Applied Shamanism is quite effective for personal healing. This methodology is also effective for cultivating personal creativity, preparing for and integrating plant medicine experiences and deepening sacred practices.
The ancient wisdom of Applied Shamanism recognizes unseen energy patterns both internally and externally that affect our experiences. Applied Shamanism and Depth Hypnosis can address or alleviate our symptoms of distress that conventional healing modalities or self-help models do not address. With the support of benevolent realms, Divine in nature, all energy can be transmuted for the highest good. Soul and power retrieval is accomplished in these healing fields of energy medicine. Ceremonies for people, lands, our homes and our environments can be utilized to harmonize our relationships with ourselves, one another, nature and the spaces we inhabit. Non-ordinary experiences defined as ghosts and hauntings can be cleared. Reparations for past harm can be made. Trauma, illnesses and “bad luck” can become a portal for deep spiritual transformation.
In addition, and by request, ceremonies are specifically created for individual, familial and collective sacred rites of passage. Some examples include: birth, age milestones, marriage, divorce and death.

Sarah Hylton is a Certified Depth Hypnosis Practitioner and a Certified Applied Shamanism Practitioner as taught by Isa Gucciardi. Sarah has studied healing practices since 1977 and had a private practice in Orthopedic Massage for 34 years. She took vows as a Buddhist in the early 1980’s receiving transmission from Namkai Norbu Rinpoche, for the full cycle of his teachings, as well as transmissions from other realized Masters. For Sarah, the healing practice of Chod, with it’s roots in Dzogchen, Bon Shamanism and Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism, remains a heart practice. Sarah participates in ceremony with Indigenous Elders of diverse cultural backgrounds and continues to be under the guidance of Isa Gucciardi, PHD, Founding Director of the Foundation of The Sacred Stream.
